Hormones are chemical messengers that set the tempo of almost everything — energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, recovery, focus and fertility. They shift minute to minute, yet most people never see a single reading. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, rises and falls on a daily rhythm and spikes under pressure. The current standard means a venous blood draw or a timed saliva sample, couriered to a central lab and processed by immunoassay or mass spectrometry. It is invasive, slow and costly — and it captures one moment from a signal that never stops moving.

Hormones are pulsatile and rhythmic. A single snapshot can land on a peak, a trough, or anywhere between — and miss the pattern that actually matters.
